Tony Hawe

Director of Software Development

As Director of Software Development, Tony leads the software development team and is responsible for driving complex software projects from concept to deployment. Since joining MAPS, Tony has developed over 30 systems for customers primarily in the health and education sectors, including core systems still being used and updated for nearly 20 years.

Tony has a strong background in database architecture, development, and optimization. He oversees the entire lifecycle of database systems used in MAPS software, from initial design and data modeling to ongoing maintenance and performance tuning. His responsibilities include managing database security, creating efficient queries and stored procedures, and ensuring high availability and scalability of the systems. Tony’s expertise also covers troubleshooting complex data issues, implementing backup and recovery solutions, and ensuring data integrity across all platforms.

He has extensive experience in full stack development, C#, ASP.Net on .NET frameworks 1-4.8, .NET 8, Blazor, AngularJS, and JavaScript. Tony is also responsible for managing MAPS’ DevOps and cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of all cloud-based systems. He oversees the continuous integration and delivery processes that support MAPS’ development teams and ensures smooth deployment and operation of MAPS’ core services.

Tony has over 25 years of industry experience in software development, database design, and management. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for developing and managing systems across various industries, including touchscreen systems, database management, and online ordering systems for large-scale enterprises.

Tony graduated from the University of Limerick with a Degree in Computer Systems.
